A trip is prepared, then ordered day by day, then lived. Decumanus does those three things: it collects the places you want to see, spreads them across the days in the order you choose, and in the field it tells you where you are and what comes next.
Its starting point is the lists you already saved in Google Maps: export them from Google Takeout and import them here, where they become the library of places your trips are built from.
Your data lives in your own iCloud: no account to create, no server of ours. Shared trips and lists sync across your devices and with the people you invite, through iCloud.
On Google Takeout pick “Maps (your places)” and download the archive: inside there is one CSV file per saved list. Each imported file becomes a list in the Places tab.
Google's CSVs carry each place's name and link, but no coordinates: the app looks them up on Apple Maps by itself, in the background, and asks you when the answer is more than one or does not come. If you would rather start from data that already has coordinates, import your CSVs into Google My Maps and export them as KML — that works too.
